Amarillo by Morning...

Now that we are back at home and getting back into things, we finally have some time to to talk about our time in Amarillo. We were in Amarillo for 11 days!!! It was SO nice and such a blessing to be home that long. We got to see everyone and spend quality time with everyone that we love. I still feel like we could have used more time, but the time we did have was so great. It snowed twice, we had a surprise Christmas on the Thomas side, Christmas with the McCandless side (my mom's side), Christmas at Meme's, Christmas with the Sesslers, Christmas at Grandma and Mel's, Christmas at my parent's house, spent time with friends, watched a few movies, shopped till we dropped, Sam went hunting and fixed several computers, and then finally we celebrated the New Year. Whew - what a fun time!! (oh and Sam grew a beard!) We tried to change things up from last year at Christmas and I think it really worked. We spent Christmas eve day with the Sessler's before we went to Meme's and then spent Christmas day with my parents. It made things less hectic and I think it worked really well!!! It was such a joyful time!

Surprise Christmas for Grandma

We actually had this the Saturday before Christmas and the entire (well almost) Thomas side came to our house to surprise my grandma. We haven't ALL been together for Christmas since I was very young, so it was so much fun to have everyone together. Everyone was coming in that morning and then we were going to surprise her at lunch (she thought she was coming to a sip n' see for Lilly). There ended up being a major snow storm that morning so it was very interesting and quite humorous getting everyone there on time. Lucky for us, with alittle bit of stalling, we got everyone here literally 15 seconds before grandma walked in the door. I can truly say for the first time Grandma was SPEECHLESS!!! The sad thing is that she didn't cry when she saw everyone (probably due to the shock), but she did cry when Heather gave her a new puppy!!!
