Quinn - 8 months

What a fun month we had with this sweet girl on her first Christmas!  She loved every part of it and just wanted to be able to see it all! She liked to pull at the gifts, but then all she cared about was the tissue paper and bows!  She had so much fun staying with her grandparents in Amarillo and getting so much time with everyone. She has really started to move, although she only scoots/crawls BACKWARDS! She seems to like the freedom of moving, but also gets super frustrated when she backs into something and can't go any more or if there is something in front of her that she wants but she only seems to get further away! I'm sure she'll figure it out soon! We also finally took a big leap and she is now officially sleeping in her own room, unswaddled, and off of her reflux wedge!  She is still trying to get used to all of these changes, but so far is doing pretty good.  The only time she cries or gets upset is if she can't find her paci.  We have started to put 4-5 paci's in her crib when she sleeps to hopefully help this problem and keep mommy and daddy from having to go in there (win, win)!! The only thing that we don't like is that she now wants to sleep flat on her face all the time! One of the best things she started this month is giving kisses! The biggest, open mouth, slobbery kisses! I'll say, "Quinn, can I have a kiss" and she'll lean in and lay one right on your lips with the biggest smile; such a love bug! She keeps us smiling constantly and is the sweetest, most precious little girl we could ever ask for.  We are super confident that the Lord has some big plans for this little girl with so much spunk, happiness, and go with the flow attitude!

Sweet "very tired" Christmas baby

- This little girl likes to grab EVERYTHING and she is quick, so you better be holding on to stuff! She is so interested and just wants to check it all out.
-She is always flapping her arms for fun or to hear the sounds she makes when they hit something.  And when you put her in the bath, they really get going! She loves to splash on her fat, little tummy and it cracks me up!
-This girl loves food.  There hasn't been a thing that she has refused.  She had to think about beets for a bit, but is great with them now.  She is also doing really good feeding herself puffs and mum mums.  If you don't want to see her mad, you better keep the food coming and quickly! We are having a hard time teaching her sign language to let us know what she wants because she is so impatient! If we are eating something and she doesn't have anything, she will start smacking her gums letting you know she is hungry too!
-When we were in Amarillo Grancy had a jumper and she LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it.  Since we got back we found one and she just loves getting her exercise!
-She still isn't saying any real words yet.  She really just laughs at us when we try to teach her! She has always favored making sounds that start with "G", and now says "goo" all of the time.  Sometimes she'll be whispering it over and over and it sounds like she is saying "cool, cool".
-She might not be talking, but she is super into making raspberries! We like to play a little game where I blow in her face and she blows a raspberry, we'll do it over and over! She thinks its the best! She will also click her tongue and mimic your sounds.
-Still only has two bottom teeth.  Is getting a lot of new hair that seems to be pretty light.
-Wears 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Jude - December

What a fun, full, adventurous, and joyful month we had!!  This boy had the BEST time experiencing and learning about Christmas this year.  Now that he is at an age to begin to understand, he jumped in head first.  The excitement and awe that he had for everything was the greatest joy.  Not to mention at the beginning of the month this little guy turned 3!!! I can't even understand how he is already three, but we are loving this age.  Yes, he is still very strong-willed, opinionated, and a very smart boy which makes it difficult at times, his maturity and growth has been such a fun adventure! He keeps us on our toes whether we are laughing or pulling our hair out!!! We love him more that words could ever express and wouldn't change a thing.  Our goal is with the Lord as our guide to nurture these hard attributes into traits that will take him far in life.
-Jude is currently in such a lovey stage.  He tells all of us that he loves us multiple times and day, gives hugs and kisses freely, is so concerned that sister is always ok, and the cutest is getting all of his stuffed animals in bed with him and then grabbing each of their hands to hold while he is sleeping.
-We are now 100% in the "Why" phase! Like I said before, although it can be hard to always come up with an answer (or multiple answers), I love that he is interested and learning!
-We must have to go through the motions of having Jude say he is sorry, then telling him that we love him and forgive him often because when he does something now he'll automatically say, "I'm sorry, I forgive you." I guess we need to work on what those actually mean now!!
-Lately when Jude has been asking for things that maybe we don't want him to have (candy, juice, chapstick (long-story), daddy's cologne, etc.) and we tell him we don't have any or no, he'll say "I know you do, I know." Then lets say a few days later he sees or stumbles upon one of these things he'll look at us and say, "See I knew you had it, I knew it!." (He's getting to smart for our little "games")
-The other day we were riding in the car and Daddy asked Jude to not eat his boogers, and he replied, "I have to, I'm hungry!"
-When we are in the car lately Jude likes to pretend that we are chasing the other cars.  Recently we were doing this and he broke out into this whole conversation, "Mommy, don't smoosh your car on that other car because it will break your car and then start a fire and burn you. Then you'll have to go to the doctor and that would be bad.  Let's just chase their red lights instead." Hummm ok bud, thanks for looking out for me!
