Amarillo by Morning

A few weeks ago, we loaded up the car (literally to the brim) and headed to Amarillo.  Although it took us a bit longer than we are used to, Jude traveled great!  It was a wonderful weekend of visiting family and getting to meet most all of his great-grandparents (only one more set to go)!  He loved all of the attention and snuggles!

5 Months

5 months, how can it be????  Honestly this has been the best 5 months of my life.  I had no idea what all motherhood would bring and how much I would love it.  The first question people ask me (well, after the "how is he sleeping" question) is how motherhood has been.  My answer is always that this is what I was made for and that I had no idea how much I would love this little man!  The older he gets, the more his personality is beginning to come out.  He is seriously happy all the time (unless its time for a nap)!  He is just content, ready for anything, thinks we are the funniest people around, and gives us more love than we could ask for.  What I am really beginning to learn is that this boy does NOT like to be still.  He wants to be on the move all the time (might get that from his momma!)!  I am already seeing glimpses into the future of chasing this guy around!!  He is all boy and it is evident - put a stuffed animal in his hands and he must wrestle it, loves all balls, and his airplane!   He has learned that he can make his toys make noises and loves to tomahawk his rattle until it flies out of his hand or he hits himself with it!
We tried cereal twice, but he is not really loving it.  We have a feeling its a texture thing.  Next step is making it a bit more flavorful, and if that doesn't do the trick, its on to veggies!  Time to start making the baby food!! He is also now in his room at night.  He has pretty much always taken his naps there, but just moved there at night.  He has done great; mom and dad on the other hand actually miss having him in there!  Here's a peak into this past month:

Happy boy!

Always has drool on his face!  I think its pretty cute though!

Sweet face!

Daddy's home!

Learning to sit and grab for toys

Not too sure about the cereal...its all on his face, none in the mouth!

I'm told I love baseball

Happy Birthday day!

Future #9 just like his Daddy!  Mini Sessler

Me and my baby boy; I pray we will always be best friends!

Stats:
-He loves tummy time and exploring his toys, wrestling his stuffed animals, playing in his excersaucer, getting kissed on the neck, singing and dancing, being outside, and rolling
-Loves eating his toes and hands! 24/7 toys! We catch him putting all of his toes and some of his foot in his mouth at once!
-He entertains himself by making raspberries with his mouth and talking! His favorite sound to make is the "g" or "gee" sound! Cracks us up!
-Still wearing size 1 diapers, but that's mainly due to mommy trying not to waste money and use all of them!
-Wearing mainly 3-6 month clothes and some 6 month clothes
-When he gets excited or we tickle him, he screams and gives great belly laughs. The best sound I have ever heard! He thinks its the funnest game!
-Tongue still out 24/7!!!
-Starting to get alot of hair with a long "toupee" on top! If I don't give him a comb-over it will stick straight up. Jude's hair and wind = crazy hair! It is pretty much staying a light brown color, though still has a red tint in the sun.  I don't think we'll have a red head any more.
-Gets so excited and gives daddy the biggest smile when he gets home from work. Its the cutest! He loves his daddy and his daddy can't get enough of him!

Jude, We love you more and more each day! We are amazed by you and the little man that you are becoming. With your personality beginning to shine through, I can already see that the Lord will have big plans for you. Your sweet, loving, excited spirit capture us and all those around you. The Lord has blessed us beyond measure and I am so thankful for each day that he has allowed me to have with you. I could not ask for more!
