Milk & Cookies Party

We had such a fun time celebrating Quinn's birthday.  It was filled with friends, fun, lots of cookies, and people that love her beyond words! I stopped to look around during the party and was overwhelmed by how blessed we are. Not only with this precious baby girl that is now 1 years old, but an equally precious big brother, family, and friends that are so much like family.  The Lord has been so good to us! Enough of the mushy stuff though, here are some a lot of pictures from the party!!

Our sweet birthday girl

The spread

Cutest cookies EVER!
(first time I haven't made the cookies, but I didn't feel like mine would turn out this well!)

MILK!!

From now on I will be adding sprinkles to all my chocolate-chip cookies; loved it!

I could have eaten the entire thing of cookie dough

Cake Time!!

It took her awhile, but then she loved getting into it.
She didn't eat much at all though; just wanted to play!

She wasn't too sure what to think about all the presents

Just give me some tissue paper and I'll be good!

I think she got enough!

Quinn - 12 Months

My sweet, little, precious, tiny, baby that I just gave birth to is ONE YEARS old!!! I have no idea how this happened! She is still my little baby and always will be though! We had a great month getting ready for a fun time celebrating her birthday! She has the funniest little personality, adores her brother (even if he is being way too rough), gives the sweetest kisses, loves to talk, enjoys her independent time, yet loves for mommy and daddy to hold her, not so found though of other people holding her, has found her opinion and sassy-side, crawls at lightening speed, is an expert stander, yet still hasn't taken the plunge into walking! Had her first birthday and then her very first ear infection (or as Jude says, her ear confection). As she has from a very young age, this girl LOVES to talk (she might be a Sessler, but this is truly a Thomas!). Not everyone would know what she is saying, but her mommy knows! She has the inflection and context down, it just might not sound exactly right! Her new words are thank you and ut-oh. She loves to play the drop something on the floor and say ut-oh over and over game, and Jude loves to get her to say it all the time! She even started signing happy birthday which is the sweetest thing! I can always hear her singing along in the car too; I think someone loves music! She loves to share, especially her paci, food, and her bottle! And there is no just pretending that you are putting it in your mouth, she wants the real deal! I would have to say that clapping is her favorite though and will break out into a clap at any moment, even when rocking to sleeping! She loves to wave and say hi and bye-bye. It might be my favorite because I love seeing her little chubby hands and wrists waving! Don't try to wipe her face or pick her up if she is "busy" though or you might see a side of Quinn you weren't expecting! It doesn't last long, but YIKES; I'm scared for the teenage years already! This ray of sunshine brings us so much joy.  Having the house always filled with her sounds and laughter just makes my heart swell.  We are all over the moon for this girl, and although its sad to see the baby time pass, I am so excited to experience and witness all that the Lord has in store of her. We love you Quinny!!!

"Helping" mommy unload the dishwasher

Jude gave Quinn just a few puffs and a rock!

Chubby bath baby!!!

Bedhead at its finest

Is always at the door watching daddy and bubba

-Stats: Height: 28.5 inches (25%) Weight: 19 pounds 14 ounces (50%)   Head: 44.5cm (40%)
-She will pretty much eat anything, but is very weird with certain textures. She is beginning to prefer just feeding herself and is rocking the sippy cup.  She is still nursing but seems to be weening herself. Looks like cows milk will be coming her way soon!
-We have tons of toys, but she really prefers paper, mommy's make up cabinet, socks, and anything that Jude is playing with!
-She still has four teeth (although two on the top are trying to make their way down), two on the top and two on the bottom.  Wears size 4 diapers and 12 month clothes.

Jude - April

This kid literary keeps us on my toes and every way imaginable!! His memory is incredible, nothing gets passed him, and the things that he says keep us laughing daily! I wish I could remember all of them, but these are the ones that I caught this month!

- This kid LOVES broccoli (crazy, I know) but I switched things up on him and gave him cauliflower one day.  I told him what it was and he said, no that's white broccoli and ate it all right up.  Whatever he has to think to eat it!!
-He was playing one day and something happened that I can't fully recall, but he said, "Whoa, that could have been bad news."
- He was eating his waffle on the way to school one morning and excitedly said, "Look, a Texas waffle." Yep, he had eaten it in a way that it sure did look like the state of Texas!
-Again, I can't remember the context of this statement, but we were talking about something and he said, "I guess that's just the way the world works." I'm sure I said this at some point when we were having one of those "it's not fair moments."
- Any scrape, bruise, bite that any of us get he is always the first to say that "God will heal it" or "God healed it" every time.  I love that He gives credit where credit is due, even in the smallest of things!
- From very early on this boy has had horrible allergies.  They have been the worst lately, so we have to be sure to give him his nose spray daily.  He is not a fan of this, and was trying to get out of it one morning and said very matter-of-factually, "Ninja Turtles don't have allergies, so I don't need that." Then another morning I told him that he wasn't going to be able to breathe all day if he did not take his medicine and he said, "Its ok, I'll just use my mount for air."
-He was eating dinner one night and found a crumb from a previous meal on the table. He picks it up and proceeds to throw it on the floor and says, "That's where old food goes, right?" I had to laugh because at any point there is always quite a bit of crumbs under our table, so he was kind of right!!!
-We were out to dinner one evening when Grancy & Pops were in town and an older man with a ponytail walked by.  Jude asked who he was, and we said that we did not know him because he was a stranger and then Jude said, "No, that was a pirate!" We all died laughing because we could totally see how he could think that!
-We were playing over at Ethan's one afternoon and they had a play flip phone. Jude picks it up and tells us all to be quite, because he is going to go in the other room to take a work call.  Seems as though he has heard this before!!!
-We were driving to Amarillo one weekend and had stopped at a gas station.  Sam was letting Jude run around in a patio area to get some energy out and he tried to pick up an old cigarette.  Sam told him not to pick it up because it was yucky.  A few minutes later a woman came out and started to get a cigarette out and Jude points to her and says, "That's yucky!" She kindly said she agreed and Sam scooped him up and got him out of there before he said anything else!!!
-I was getting Jude dressed one day and he looked up at me and said, "Do I look like a super hero?" Always bud, always!!
-We were taking a walk one afternoon and went across a cross walk.  Once we got across Jude says, "Hey, that's where the Beatles walked!"
-Lastly, I was very delayed in getting Jude's nails cut (they grow like weeds!!) and one day in the car he says, "I got the white stuff off." I was super confused until he held up his nail super proud of himself and said, "I bit it off!" I told him to not do any more and that I would cut them all when we got home and he said, "That's ok, I'll just bite them all off." Seems as though he inherited his daddy's horrible habit!!

Fun day with Mo visiting Thomas the Train

This corn-dog was bigger than him!! He had no problems finishing the whole thing!

Getting to ride his very own Thomas

Playing soccer at Klyde Warren Park

Sporting Superman, Ninja Turtles, Texas Rangers all in a tiny car with his potato masher!

Celebrating Jude's "big boy" 3 1/2 birthday!
He got some new privileges and some new rules!!

This boy loves a burger, and even more LOVES
eating a burger in the restaurant...he begs to go inside!
(Maybe it is because we hardly take this crazy kid out to eat and because we hardly ever get to eat like this!!!)

Showing me his plant that he planted with Mo on Grandparents day at school

Western Day!! Pretty cute cowboy, although you can't see his belt buckle!
