4th of July weekend

I am very delayed on this post, but wanted to make sure I captured it due to so many great memories. We took a trip to Amarillo to visit family and introduce Quinn to all of her great-grandparents over the 4th of July weekend.  We also got to see my very best friends that I don't get to see much any more and spent some time with their families.  Just another reminder of how much the Lord has so graciously blessed us with people in our lives.  We were surrounded by so much love the entire weekend.

Jude - July

We had a great month of spending time outside, traveling to see family, and spending some quality time together.  Jude is becoming such a little boy and my baby is slowing disappearing.  He always makes sure we know he is a big boy and tells us he doesn't need to do things because he's big.  For instance, "I don't need to hold your hand in the parking lot because I'm big!"  He has always been quite the talker, but lately he is narrating everything for us with such detail.  You can just see the wheels spinning at 90 miles/hour inside his little head!

-He sometimes gets his words mixed up.  He will often say "the next one" when he is referring to another one or the other one.  He also always asks for two when he wants more than one of something, like it is the universal word for multiples!
-We have entered the stage of "What's that", "Where are we going", and "Why"!  Usually repeated over and over and over!  Right now, I am still enjoying it because its just a sign that he wants to learn!
-He likes to pretend he is going to work like daddy.  He will put on one of his ties or tie bib out of his closet and then go pretend he's typing on his night stand! I'll tell him he needs to go to bed and he'll say, "No, I can't...I'm working."
-He has started to let us know that he's "funny" or "silly"; more often than not its when he has done something he shouldn't.  (Maybe I won't get in trouble if they think I'm funny...ha, good try!!)
-If you ask him if he wants to do something that doesn't sound fun to him, he'll say "Not today" in the funniest voice!
-Not sure where he heard this, but he has started to say "no problem" when asked to do something!
-At night he likes for us to tell him Jesus stories.  He's still a bit confused on how all of this stuff works and will sometimes get offended when you being to pray..."No, that's my Jesus, you can't pray to my Jesus!"  He then tells us that we each of a Jesus that lives in our hearts.  We're working on this!!!
-He likes to use multiple adjectives when describing something.  The most common is when he says "so and so it kinda a little bit" or "sorta kinda a little bit".
-Its hard to keep a straight face when he is getting in trouble and you ask if he did something..."Jude, did you hit your friend?" "Yes, I did" with the most serious confident tone.  Well at least we aren't dealing with lying yet!

He loves to build houses and forts with the couch pillows

He thinks it is hilarious to wear pulls up on his head

He made this "golf course" all by himself.  Black rug the tee box, then the green fairway, and last the round hole.  Pretty creative!

Every Sunday these two get out of their classes, hug, and run as fast as they can away from us to go play!

Wipeout!!!

Quinn - July

Our sweet little girl is somehow already three months old!  She is just the greatest joy and perfect addition to our family.  She is the happiest, content, go-with-the-follow little girl.  She doesn't cry too often, but when she does she lets you have it!!  She will go from zero to crazy intense!  More often than not it is right before bedtime when she is just done for the day and a bath can sooth her instantly.  Pretty much any other time that she becomes cranky is just because she wants her beloved paci!  This girl is super obsessed with her paci...aka her best friend! If the paci isn't available then she will instantly suck on her hands and fingers.  I know this all helps her reflux, but I think we may have a slight addiction too!! Her brother is so sweet to her and hardly ever reacts poorly to her anymore.  He likes to help give her bottles when we give them to her, is always up for waking her up, and always says that he is protecting her.  He is also always concerned that she needs her paci or a toy.  He is not a fan of her crying and is always sure to let us know (as if we weren't already clearly hearing her!).  I can't wait to see how their relationship blossoms! The best part of this month was when she found her laugh.  It is the best!!  The weird thing is she will just do it randomly, not necessarily when we think something is funny...I guess she does! She already has us wrapped around her little finger and can melt anyone with her deep blue eyes and smile!

Getting alittle help from brother

-We pretty much always call her "sister".  Sometimes I forget her name is actually Quinn!
-When she is sitting she always has her hands clasped together in front of her.  I am assuming this is how she was in utero.
-She is getting so strong with great head/neck strength and is getting really good at standing on her legs.  She is always so proud of herself when she gets up.
-She is very social and has started enjoying "social hour" rather than nursing!  She will just stop, look up, and start having a full out discussion! I can't resist those little coos, but girl needs to eat too!!
-She hasn't lost much of her hair at this point, although it has lightened up slightly.  The good news is that it is starting to lay down rather than stick straight up like a crazy woman!
-Wears 3 month cloths and size 1 diapers.
