Quinn's Dedication

He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

Psalm 91:4

A few weeks ago we had the privilege to dedicate Quinn at our church in front of our family, friends, and church family.  A way for us to proclaim her, the Lord's child, and our promise to love, guide, and nurture her in the truth and love of the Lord.  We felt so blessed with so many people there to support us and love on Quinn.  We are truly grateful for all that came; some from very far!  We know the road of raising this precious child will not be seamless and always easy, but we stand firm in the knowledge that the Lord will provide us our daily bread each and every day.  Our biggest prayer is that Quinn will come to know the Lord and live for Him all of her days.  That she would know that there is a heavenly Father that loves her more than we ever could.  That she would never find her worth in this world, but in Him alone.  We are so thankful that we will have a front seat to all of this!  We love you more than we could ever express Quinn, you bring an incomprehensible joy to all our lives!

For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” So they WORSHIPED the Lord there.
1 Samuel 1:27-28

September - Jude

-One evening I was giving Jude a bath and he kept standing up.  I asked him to sit down and he said "I want to walk on water like Jesus does."
-He loves to eat just plain toast, but sometimes he likes to really mix it up and eat "soft" toast...that's right, what's also known as a piece of bread!
-He got in trouble one day at MDO because he tackled one of his friends, I was explaining to him that we do not tackle our friends because we could hurt them, and he stops me and says very matter-of-factly, "no, no mom I tackled him like the Cowboys do." I other words, its ok mommy, because I just did it like the professional football players do!
-We were driving in the car one day and he started pointing and saying, "they are dancing".  It took me a second to figure out that he was talking about the plants/weeds blowing in the wind!
-During another bath one evening he was playing very intently, and I started washing his hair.  He said in the most polite voice, "don't distract me mommy"!  I didn't realize I was talking to a 15 year old!!!
-We were buying some pumpkins to get ready for fall and I gave Jude some cash to pay for them, he handed it back to me and said, "No, I need the hard money." (aka: the credit card)
-Jude can be very literal and everything is black and white to him.  We'll say something to him like, you're silly and he'll say, "I'm not silly, just Jude!"

Line them all up, and hit them in

Quinn - September

Miss Quinn we are head over heels for you and your sweet face!  You bring joy and can light up any room you are in.  I could kiss your face the entire day, although that would just make those cheeks even rosier! You are getting quite the little personality and are starting to move all around.  I'm afraid you are going to be ready to be on the move in the very near future.  Your biggest thing this month was discovering your feet and starting to use your hands to grab everything!  I didn't realize it was possible, but you are also talking even MORE these days; some might even call it yelling at times!  You also like to get all of your drool in the back of your throat and make the funniest noises.  You just love watching all that is going on around you, and could watch Jude run around all day long!  I'll say, "Quinn where's Jude?" and you'll starting looking all around the room for him and get so excited when you finally find him.  Anything he does makes you laugh; he can simply look at you in the eye and you will start cracking up! You are so squishy and snugly, especially those thighs.  I like to say you are petite and pudgy! I can not even put into words the deep love that we have for you.  I had no idea I could love another child as much as I love you. I pray the light in your eyes never goes out and that you use your sweet, lovable personality to serve the Lord.

Two out of three isn't too bad!

-At her last doctor appointment she weighed 14 pounds 6 ounces
-She has started doing a fake cough when she wants her paci put back in!
-She has started to hold her own bottle when we give her a "topper" bottle during the day if she is still hungry.  The bad thing is that she often tries to suck her thumb while drinking the bottle!
- She is now wearing 3-6 month and some 6 month clothes, and size 2 diapers.
