July - Jude

We had quite an adventurous month with lots of laughing at this boy!

- Jude was having a hard time go to bed (a nightly occurrence) and had gotten in trouble with Sam.  I went up to see if I could help and he tells me, "I tried to obey, I just couldn't!"
- One morning at home Jude was walking downstairs and says, "Why does Daddy keep leaving his shoes on the floor? You need to tell him to stop doing that!"
- I was rocking Jude in my lap one afternoon and he says, "Mommy, you didn't shave your legs, I don't like that!"
- He went to eat something that he didn't particularly like and said, "That's awful!" I have no idea where he got that!
- When we were in the mountains Jude was discussing everyone's facial hair.  He was saying how hairy of a beard that Uncle Jacob has and then said, "Daddy has a beard on his face and Mommy has a beard on her legs!!!" (I promise I do shave)
- As evidenced by the above comments, he has been interested in hair and is so proud that he has hair on his arms and legs. The other day he said that God gave him his hair on his arms to keep him warm and he was so glad that he did!
- Last, he has been trying out some new "techniques" when he is getting in trouble.  I think he has figured out that they pull at our heart-strings and tend to make us be a little more lenient on him.  He will say things like, "please stop being mean to me" or "will you please not be mad at me" or "please just talk to me." Mind you these are all while he is usually throwing a fit, ha!!  Threenager!!

Swimming lesson success!
I love that his instructor always took pictures for us!

Making it rain and learning about clouds!

Swim time with Ethan

Mom, I'm ready to go to the splash pad!! (fully accessorized!)

June - Quinn (14 months)

Oh Quinn, you truly are our sunshine! Your smile and your eyes bring constant light to our lives.  I can't even remember a time without you in our family and the joy that you bring to all of us.  You have each one of us wrapped around your little finger (even if a certain little boy likes to pretend you don't). You are starting to take a few steps (currently at 4 steps), but still not too interested.  You LOVE the cheering and attention that you get when you are successful though! You are a lighting fast crawler, so why change??? Whether its your hilarious bear crawl, one-legged scoot, or regular crawl you can get where you want in a flash! You are communicating better and better, though not too many actual words! But you are FINALLY saying Mama and it just melts my heart! I just ask you to say it all day just to hear your sweet little voice say my name.  Little words or not, you are still able to let us know what you want by either using sign language, pointing, screaming, etc! Your favorite word is "this".  That's right you say "this" any time you want something and we are just left guessing what it is you want.  You will push things away until we finally get it right. You are so polite with always saying "thank you", although its only by the inflection.  We know what you are saying though! You love to snuggle and crawl up and play in our laps, and will come back for hugs and back rubs over and over. To say that you are obsessed with your Daddy is an understatement! The second he comes home from work, he better be holding you. The hard part is, that brother thinks the same thing!! In the morning you will yell "Daaaaa" until you find him and get so excited! Although you are still very much a Mommy's girl, I think we will soon easily be calling you a 100% Daddy's girl! I just love the bond that you two have! You aren't much on letting other people hold you if one of us is around, but will still give a good wave, high-five, or smile as long as you are "safe" in our arms! We are working through a little bit of "attitude" that is beginning to show its ugly face, but nothing that sticks around too long! We love you beyond words and can't get enough of your sweet, loving, bubbly, quirky self.  I find myself picking you up more and more at night just to get a little more time.  I pray I never forget all those moments rocking and having your arms wrapped around me, your fine little hair blowing up tickling my nose, and your warm baby breath on my face.  I could hold you forever and pray that you will always let me!! You are growing into a beautiful soul and can't wait to see the girl (and eventually woman) the Lord has in store.  He truly knit you in His perfect image and can't wait to see it all bloom to the surface.  Quinny, Q, Quinny-poo, Sis, Sister, Sissy we LOVE you!!!

Sweet blue-eyed girl

Sister's way of playing in the sand is pick it up and pour it on the ground

She could literally be in the water ALL day!

Getting help from Brother with her walker

Yep, still in her bath seat because she will NOT sit down!!!

You better be ready for some screaming when you take her out of the swing!!!

Getting some lov'n from Nan & Gramps

Mia wanted to see if she could pick Quinn up

We had to get Quinn a fan for the car because she was getting so hot.  This is what I saw the first time I opened the car door, ha! Slightly windblown!

Giving Mommy some birthday love!

Attempting to dive into the water (literally!)

Trying to survive daddy's extremely hot softball game!

Getting her daily yoga in

-Food: This girl is picky, picky, picky!!! She mainly just eats the baby food I make her with some finger foods.  But the problem is that one day she will love a finger food and then will never touch it again after that.  She won't even try things; as soon as it touches her lips, she spits it out!!  This is going to be a challenge!!!
-Favorite toys: walker, toilet paper, tupper ware
-Loves to pretend like she is talking on the phone with her fake phone. Its always the most cheerful conversation!
- This girl LOVES water!!! Whether its the bathtub, pool, splash pad she wants to be fully in it the whole time! She has no fear and water in her face is no big deal.  It might throw her off for a second, but she shakes it off and is right back to what she was doing!
-Still has 8 teeth, four on top and four on the bottom
-Wears 12 month and some 18 month clothes, and still size 4 diapers.

Jude - June

We have been doing summer hard so far and trying to enjoy every minute!! Some good Judisms from the past month:
- We were driving on the highway one day and we saw a random duck on the road.  I made a comment that the duck must be lost and looking for water, and Jude responds, "Its not a water duck, its a highway duck."
- We were getting out of the car and I asked Jude to carry some of his stuff inside, he looked up at me and said, "I can't carry everything mom!"
- We were downtown one evening and Jude got so excited and said, "There's your building mom, the building with the "M".  I did't know you had a building!" Then we drove by Medieval Times and he said that was the building that daddy worked at yesterday, ha!!!
- We were walking out of the gym and it was a super hot and bright day, the kind where you can't even open your eyes.  Jude looked up at me and begged, "Mommy, please make the hotness go away!" Trust me, I would if I could bud!!!
- One evening while cooking dinner Jude was checking out his muscles.  He turns to me and says, "Show me your muscles mom." He then responded, "You have big muscles like me, now we can wrestle!!!" LOL
- He must be listening to me because one day he was getting water over and over and I asked him to stop because he was getting it all over the floor, he looked at me and very seriously said, "I have to, I don't want to get dehydrated!"
-"Look Mommy I'm getting hair on my arms like daddy.  It protects me from the sun"

Looks more like a "Y", but good try!

Ranger games are just too loud for Jude!

Yep, any time he was outside, he was covering his ears!

Selfie stick fun!

We did this "game" of taking pictures in the cave every day!

Leaving the library one day, "Hey mom, take my picture with this statue"

Helping mom bust open her birthday pinata

We do this a lot!!!
