Amarillo by Morning

We headed back "home" last week to spend some much needed time with our families.  It was a fun week of playing, cooking out, and seeing family!  We are so blessed to have both families in one location, so that we can get some good time in with everyone.  Jude soaked up everything single minute of it!  He realized quickly that he was the center of attention where ever he went and ate it up.  I have never seen him ham it up like he was with all of his grandparents.  Its such a joy seeing him really bond and form relationships with everyone now that he is getting older. He even started saying everyone's names without being prompted.  He is the sweetest boy and brings so much joy to all his family.

18 Months

HOW IN THE WORLD IS MY BABY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD!!!  I am having a hard time letting this reality settle in.  The majority of the time I still call him "baby" rather than Jude and realistically he's not my baby, but my toddler/little boy! Although the thought does make me a bit sad, I would not trade this stage for anything. This fun-loving little guy brings so much joy to every single day.  He is talking up a storm and becoming so independent.  He wants to try things on his own and mimic everything mommy and daddy are doing.  It is so fun watching so many things that we have been trying to teach him all come together and become understandable.  Its just amazing how quickly he learns and picks things up!  Along with all of these fun things, we are also seeing glimpses of the "terrible two's"!!!  He is trying to figure out how to express himself and finding some new "emotions".  We are working through these times, but I could do without the new high pitched screaming when he doesn't get his way!  Inside it makes me laugh a bit, but I can't let him know that!  We know this is just another stage that we must learn to maneuver through.  Not to mention that we used to think that Jude was crazy energetic, but we have learned that an even crazier stage exists!!  Keeps us on our toes, but adds even more fun around here!  The majority of the time though he is still our sweet, loving, easy-going dude.  Each day brings new adventures and new cherished moments that I pray I never forget!

Beach Living

How has it been 3 weeks already since we were at the beach???  That's the worst part about vacations; you look forward to them and prepare for so long, and then just a few weeks later its hard to believe you've already gone!!  Our last trip here we were just in the first trimester of pregnancy and had dreams of bringing out little boy back. We had such a great trip and Jude LOVED the beach! We learned quickly that he hated the sand touching his feet, so water shoes to the rescue!  The first day we were a bit worried because he seemed to have no fear at all of the ocean and just wanted to get right in.  After getting brave he got a wave in the face and learned that he did not like that much.  We considered that a blessing to give him a small taste of reality of how power the ocean really is!!  He could have stayed out there splashing in the water and playing in the sand all day!!  We went to the beach every day, except one pool day, did a little bit of shopping & browsing around cute shops in Seaside and even Panama, and ate some amazing food!!  I love the family-friendly atmosphere in Watersound/Seaside; I think I can see us coming back and making more memories for many years to come!!  The beach is our happy place! This might be the longest post ever, but this is only about 2% of the photos we took!!!

We have arrived, visiting the beach for the first time
