Month 22

Another great month down and some how only two months away from my "baby" turning 2!!!  I'll try not to focus on that though, and focus on all of the fun that we had this past month!  We had a lot of visitors the first half of the month, with both set of grandparents coming to visit, and spent the rest of the month attempting to do "fall" things with the summer weather that is still hanging around!!  We took Jude to his first high school football game and he was a FAN!!  From the actual football game, music playing from the speakers, and the bands playing he was well entertained!  We also visited our first pumpkin patch of the year (now he is obsessed with pointing out ALL pumpkins he sees) and went to visit the firemen (wooh-wooh).  We also started his weekly music class which he absolutely LOVES!!  He now wakes up and often asks "moosic cas"???  His favorite songs are the "active" songs or playing the instruments.  He also highly enjoys when the parachute gets to come out; so far he is one of the only ones that is brave enough to go under it and thinks its hilarious! He did get asked though to leave the circle a few classes ago because he couldn't keep from throwing the bells (I honestly had a hard time not laughing about this).  Also, although baseball and basketball rank as his favorites, his newest favorite sports to play are soccer and tennis!  This kid could honestly play one of these sports all day long, he never gets tired of them!  He can also sing most of the A,B,C song with some help (although sometimes he can get pretty "creative") and can count to 10 with some help.  He still tends to count everything as 1, 2, 3 but every now and then he'll show he really knows them all!!  Little stinker!  Last month everything was the color "bue" (blue), but now this month everything is "red".  He definitely also knows yellow, white, black, green, and purple.  His favorite letter is still "B" and can pick it out anywhere, but is also good with "A" and "S".  It is so fun getting to watch this little guy learn and grow.  It just amazes us daily how much he absorbs and learns without us even teaching him.  He is a little sponge just trying to figure this whole big world out!!

First, Grancy came to visit (Pops came a few days later)

We took her to play at open gym

And to get his first milkshake (which he had the death-grip on!!)

Then to the park to play with Mia & Tripp

He thought he was so big

He was obsessed with Grancy's watch all week, so she finally got him his own watch!

Last, we went to the Perot Museum

Jude and daddy racing a cheetah
(I'm pretty sure the Cheetah is already done here!! ha!)

Checking out the dinosaurs

The next weekend Mo and Ba-Paw came to visit (with some treats!!)

Helping daddy & Ba-Paw build a shed

Dancing to the Beatles with Mo

Jamming with his guitar (g-tar)

Watching daddy & Ba-Paw cut the wood - its loud!!

Enjoying some finger painting
(he still prefers to use the sponges)

(now if we can just keep him from throwing all of the pumpkins)

Stomping in the puddles after the rain.
I also taught him how to float leaf boats!

Flower Mound High football game

Visiting the fire station

Putting out the fire!

Early morning Saturday mow session with Ethan (just like their daddy's)

Taking some batting practice in his PJs
(Bad news for mommy, Jude found daddy's real bat
and insists doing this the "real" way! Watch out!!)

Yes, its still hot!!

Snuggles with daddy after nap time

Stats:
-His favorite foods right now are hot dogs (aka: healthier turkey dogs), sweet potatoes fries, mac-n-cheese, grapes, and yogurt.
-Baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis all the time!!
-Loves to read books, although he tends to be a very "active" reader! His favorite books right now are "5 Little Monkey's", his "Me" book, and his "star" book.
-He loves to skip, jump, gall-up, march, stomp, etc. Especially in the hallway upstairs because it makes more noise!
-He enjoys doing "art projects" with finger paint, water colors, crayons, and play dough.  He also loves to get his hands on a forbidden pen!!!
-He loves to entertain and be the center of attention, he'll say "I munny" (I funny)!
-He has started saying "I no wan it" (I don't want it) or "nope" when he doesn't want something.  One is polite, one is not!
-Loves getting under the covers in mommy & daddy's bed.  He has to get settled in them in-between each book at night and before prayers (again, "active reader").
-When he wants something or is ready to do something, he has started to yell milk-TIME, swing-TIME, muffin-TIME, etc.  Cracks me up!
-Has been for a very long time, and is still, obsessed with mommy's necklaces, bracelets, and watches.  I'm pretty sure I've already lost several!
-He still has 6 front teeth on top, 2 top molars, 6 front teeth on the bottom, and 3 bottom molars.  Although, it is evident he is currently working on some more back molars.
-Wears size 4 diapers
-Wears mostly 18 month pants and 18-24 month tops.  Size 5 or 6 shoes.
-Takes 2 naps most days, or one nap and one "rest" period in the afternoon.

Month 21

We rounded out this last month of summer by spending as much time as possible in the sun, as evidenced below!!  This bodes very well for running off some energy for this busy little guy.  Jude is talking so much and becoming our little parrot. It may not come off perfectly, but makes for some pretty funny moments for us!  Sports still pretty much rule his world.  The words baseball (ba-ball), basketball goal (ba-ket-go-go), golf ball game (gof-ba-ga), and tennis (tenis) come out of his mouth approximately every 10 seconds.  I truly think that is all that is on his mind!!  And he's pretty good at all of them (at least in his mommy and daddy's eyes).  He practices all day long and gets pretty upset if you make him stop or leave his "game". Even in his crib he'll be saying "shoot the basketball" and putting his arm up like he's practicing!  He is also starting to learn a few letters and be able to pick them out - the "B" letter is his favorite, but second behind is "A".  He has said 1-2-3 for quite awhile now, but he is now learning how to actually point and count things. We have also been working on learning colors.  Although we know he knows a few more colors, everything is always bue (blue).  He though can also say yellow, red, green and some times orange.  To round out his all-boyness, he also loves trucks.  When we are driving he likes to point out the big truck (bi tuck), the dump trucks (dum tuck), fire trucks (woo woo), and the tractors (ta-tor).  This boy truly fits the "all boy" mold, but equally has the sweetest, most loving personality.  He definitely has his strong-willed, independent moments, but still has the sweetest heart.  He always wants everyone involved and will come looking for you if you aren't.  Its like a mamma hen gathering all of her chicks; he just wants us all to be together all the time.  To round it out, one of our biggest accomplishments of this month is pee peeing in the potty!!  We have been putting his on his potty before bath time for awhile and now he finally gets what its for!  He has only done it a few times, but hey, its a step!  To say he (and we) were proud is an understatement!!  Such a big boy!

Backyard water fun

Do you think he likes it???

"Dada, it's raining (wain)!!"

Splash-pad fun

He thought it was hilarious to just wear his shoes after church

"Helping" mommy water the plants

Loves going to Home Depot

I think he could eat an entire watermelon by himself!!

Mommy, why are you getting rid of these shoes?
It was hilarious watching him attempt to walk`

Crazy hair in the wind - we got a haircut the next week!!

Playing with E-tan (Ethan) and Bandon (Brandon) - he is obsessed with Brandon!

He loves hanging from the chin-up bar.  He can just hang there for so long!
Soon he'll be doing pull-ups!

"I fix it" - helping daddy "fix" his airplane with dada's drill

Fishies!!!

First hotel stay!! Enjoying hanging out on the bed with dada

He ran through the hotel hallways like this every time we went out there.
I guess this was his way of catching some wind!!

Loves dancing with ear buds

Attempt at a family pic in Austin

Having some "coffee" with RyRy in Austin

Splash play date with friends

Big Jude and Little Jude

Last visit to the waterpark!

He thought he was too big for the baby slide; he upgraded to the "big" slide!

Even by himself!! He was so proud!

Dada ba-ball bat (baseball bat) and baby ba-ball bat
(its hard to tell but he is holding a mini wooden bat just like dads)

-His favorite foods right now are watermelon, milk, bananas, mac & cheese, cheese, and smoothies.  We are still working on him taking smaller bites, because he always tries to stuff it all in at one time!
-Favorite toys are still balls, his bats, and golf clubs.  If he's not playing with a ball, then its trucks, puzzles, or play dough.  He also enjoys coloring, but only for short time periods. He loves to "hut hut" the football and kick the soccer ball.  He started this new thing where he holds the ball up and then kicks it when he drops it, like he's punting.
-One of his new favorite things to do is fix things with daddy's tools - "I fix it".  Hopefully he'll be a handy man like his daddy one day!
-Every night when daddy's gets home Jude points to the tv and says "I watch" baseball or tennis .  They've also been knows to watch some golf.  Anything else on tv, forget about it!!!
-This kid has the best sense of direction.  He still faces backwards in his car seat, yet will start saying baseball game, golf ball game, or "we're home" way before we actually get to those things.  We're always impressed.
-Every night after we read our books, we have prayer time.  We call them his prayer hands. You better hurry up the prayer though or Jude will start saying "amen"! We also ask him where Jesus lives and he'll say "in my hawt (heart)" and touches his heart.
-When he likes something, he'll say "nice" super loud!
-I think we have nailed the hot=danger thing pretty well, because he will not touch something (food, water, etc) if he thinks it might be remotely hot.
-He likes to help keen (clean), whether its wiping his mess or face, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
-We are starting to notice more and more that Jude seems to have some fear of heights.  We though it was just him being slightly cautious, which he can be at times, but now feel that it is true fear.  He'll start shaking or slightly whimpering.  I guess we'll see what happens with this over time.
-This month we have also started climbing up and down the stairs by himself, brushing his teeth every night (mommy starts and baby finishes), & doing rolls (unfortunately his favorite spot to do these is on the bed, and not looking if he'll fall off or not).
-He now has 6 front teeth on top, 2 top molars, 6 front teeth on the bottom, and 3 bottom molars.
-Wears size 3 & 4 diapers
-Wears mostly 18 month pants and 18-24 month tops.
-Takes 2 naps most days, or one nap and one "rest" period in the afternoon.
